If your youngster is lucky enough to attract interest from college sports recruiters, you've probably heard or read plenty of horror stories from parents who've gone through the recruiting process.  Most of those stories center on alleged embellishments and unfulfilled promises.  Take them with a grain of salt. In my experience (during my son's junior and senior years of high school football), college recruiters are the most scrupulous people this side of the Amish.  Sure, it's a competitive business and there are a few slimeballs out there.  But with a little knowledge and common sense, along with realistic expectations, you and your child will be able to enjoy the experience and maybe even come away with an offer you can't refuse.
