little bit about me ...
My name is Mike Brusko. I'm your host
here at OldSchoolSportsParenting.com. Although this website is new
(launched in August 2006), the ideas in it -- and the idea for it -- go
back a lot of years. There's plenty to read and react to, so I
hope you won't spend too much time on this page. But if you
take a minute to browse through the biographical tidbits below,
you'll have a much better feel for what shaped my thinking.

Both daughters
played soccer and softball for several years in youth programs.
Both also ran track in high school, but very "recreationally."

Son played youth
basketball, baseball and football; AAU basketball (team made
National Tournament several years); high school basketball and
football (all-conference in both); earned four college
scholarship offers.
My
background as a teacher and coach...

Taught 5th Grade
and coached high school football for four years.

football for four years when my son wasn't playing.

baseball (three years) and football (four years) when my son
was playing.

school district's Middle School football team when my son played
in 7th grade.
